Government launches new portal to promote international investment in public infrastructure

  • This new tool, developed by the Ministry of Public Works’ General Directorate of Concessions (DGC) and InvestChile, was launched at the PPP Americas 2025 international forum in Lima, Peru.

During the PPP Americas 2025 international forum, organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Ministry of Public Works’ General Directorate of Concessions (DGC) and InvestChile officially presented the new Public Infrastructure Investment Opportunities Portal.

This digital tool will enable international investors to more easily access relevant information and documentation on public infrastructure projects currently being tendered and upcoming projects until March 2026.

This multilingual portal brings together, for the first time, project offerings from various sectors in a unified, modern, and accessible format. The goal of this tool is to close information gaps for foreign investors, streamline evaluation and decision-making times, and promote greater competitiveness in tender processes.

In this first phase, the platform will feature information on 15 projects totaling US$7.8 billion, of which US$3.3 billion corresponds to projects currently being tendered and US$4.5 billion to projects whose tender processes will be initiated in the coming months.

The portal includes public building, road infrastructure, reservoir, desalination plant, and cable car projects, showcasing the diversity and scale of Chile’s concessions system.

Director General of Public Works Concessions, Juan Manuel Sánchez, emphasized the importance of drawing on the expertise of other government agencies to enhance investment opportunities in infrastructure projects.

“This portal is a great opportunity to provide a useful and effective tool to attract new players to the concessions system. It is a virtuous collaboration between the DGC and InvestChile, which will provide more information on investors looking for opportunities in Chile. Today, we have taken another step forward in showcasing our concessions system and experience, with a global perspective focused on sustainable development,” he added.

InvestChile Director, Karla Flores, highlighted the joint effort between both institutions to boost the incorporation of new players in public infrastructure investment processes. “InvestChile is drawing on its expertise and capabilities to diversify the presence of foreign companies in our concessions system.

We are convinced that foreign companies can make a significant contribution not only in terms of costs, but also in technology and best practices, and especially in sustainability, which is crucial for the development of our business ecosystem,” she said.

The strategic partnership between the DGC and InvestChile will strengthen the promotion of the concessions portfolio through joint initiatives, such as participation in key events and activation of the agency’s international network, focusing on attracting new capital and boosting high-impact infrastructure for the country.
