The global outlook for foreign investment in 2026, with an international and local perspective, will be the topic of discussion at the new edition of the InvestChile Seminar, an event that the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency will hold on January 14 in Santiago.
The event, with registration available at seminar.investchile.gob.cl, will be led by William Maloney, Chief Economist for the Latin America and Caribbean region at the World Bank, who will address the main macroeconomic outlook and the factors that will influence investment flows to the region in the coming years.
The event will also feature two panel discussions. The first panel, “Women Leaders and Key Industry Perspectives on Global Challenges,” will bring together representatives from strategic industries for sustainable development and competitiveness, and will address the sectoral vision for global challenges in mining, energy, infrastructure and finance.
This session will include the participation of Amparo Cornejo, Director of the Mining Council and Chief Sustainability Officer of Teck Resources; Pilar Concha, CEO of the Chilean Association of Investment Fund Managers (ACAFI); Ana Lía Rojas, Executive Director of the Chilean Renewable Energy and Storage Association (ACERA); and Gloria Hutt, Chairperson of the Association of Concessionaires of Public Infrastructure Works (COPSA).
This will be followed by the “Foreign Investment Scenarios and Trends” panel, which will analyze the international financial context from the perspective of investment funds and global consulting firms. This space will include the participation of Oltmann Ahlers, Head of Latin America at Manova Partners (Germany); José Mestres, Partner & Investment Leader for Infrastructure in Latin America at Patria Investments (Brazil); Macarena Navarrete, Country Managing Partner at EY Chile (UK); and Jean-Marc Arbogast, Country Manager of the World Bank Group for Chile, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The director of InvestChile, Karla Flores will kick off the InvestChile Seminar, which aims to be a space for high-level dialogue regarding the context faced by global investment flows in 2026. The event will take place at a critical moment for the international economy, marked by geopolitical challenges, productive transformations and the acceleration of the digital and energy transition. In this context, the event aims to provide a strategic view on global investment trends and Chile’s role in this changing scenario.
