ITF 2025 Summit: InvestChile promotes investment opportunities in transportation

  • As part of Chile’s presidency of the International Transport Forum (ITF), InvestChile participated in the world’s leading transport policy event to promote investment opportunities in infrastructure and sustainable transportation.

Chile was present at the ITF 2025 Summit, which was held in Leipzig, Germany, with a high-level delegation. As the president country of the International Transport Forum, Chile is leading the global discussion on the future of mobility, highlighting its commitment to modern, resilient, and people-centered transportation systems.

The Chilean delegation was led by Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz, and also included key officials such as Guillermo Muñoz, President of Santiago Metro, and Paola Tapia, Director of the Metropolitan Public Transport Directorate (DTPM), among other leading transportation sector representatives.

Promoting investment in sustainable transportation

InvestChile was represented at the event by its Infrastructure and Logistics Sector Leader, Patricio Álvarez, who was supporting the ministry’s efforts to position Chile as an attractive destination for investment in transportation.

The agency was promoting tenders for the provision of public transportation services on road infrastructure in Santiago and other regions across the country.

A global platform for transport dialogue

The ITF Summit is organized by the OECD’s International Transport Forum, an intergovernmental organization with 69 member countries.

It is the only global body that covers all modes of transportation, and its annual summit brings together transport ministers, international organization leaders, members of parliament, academics, and industry executives.

Over three days, attendees engaged in strategic discussions on the future of transportation, addressing issues such as economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion.

The event serves as a key platform for knowledge exchange, trend analysis, and the formation of partnerships within the sector.

Chile, a key player in the future of mobility

With a clear strategy and strong institutional commitment, Chile is advancing its vision of modern and sustainable mobility.

Through its participation in the ITF 2025 Summit, the country aims to strengthen international cooperation and attract foreign investment to further develop transportation infrastructure and services that enhance people’s quality of life.

InvestChile reaffirmed its role as a bridge between the Chilean government and international stakeholders interested in contributing to the development of the transportation sector, promoting strategic tenders and generating new opportunities for private investment that benefit the country.
