InvestChile—Chile’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency—announced its 2025 year-end project portfolio figures. Over the past year, the agency managed 463 foreign investment projects in different stages of development valued at US$ 65.7 billion in all, a 16.8% increase over the US$ 56.2 billion recorded at year-end 2024.
Of the total amount, US$ 16.2 billion corresponds to investment initiatives now installed and in development through 107 projects that have generated a total of 3,886 direct permanent jobs.
InvestChile Director Karla Flores highlighted that the agency’s hard work has led to a dramatic rise in the value of the project portfolio it manages, from US$ 28.3 billion at year-end 2022 to US$ 65.7 billion last December.
“Chile is attractive to foreign firms and has a number of qualities that set it apart from its peers in the region when a company is deciding where to implement its investment plans. And behind that 132% growth is the tremendous work of the InvestChile team, which over the past four years has focused on four key areas: strengthening its work in business intelligence and investment climate; consolidating its attaché network; encouraging foreign investment in the regions through agreements with regional governments; and actively promoting public tender and concession portfolios,” commented Flores.
The investments of foreign companies supported by InvestChile were concentrated in four sectors: Energy, with US$ 38.2 billion; Mining, with US$ 14.4 billion; Global Services and Technology, with US$ 5.6 billion; and Infrastructure, with US$ 5.6 billion. In Mining and Infrastructure, the value of projects increased by 67% and 64%, respectively, over year-end 2024.
Among the countries where foreign investment projects in InvestChile’s portfolio originate, the U.S. accounted for the largest share, with US$ 19.1 billion, followed by Denmark with US$ 11.3 billion, while companies from the United Kingdom came in third with US$ 7.7 billion.
Also very notable is that 84% of the total potential investment in InvestChile’s portfolio in 2025, representing US$ 55.5 billion, was for projects located outside of the Metropolitan Region.
