  • According to an analysis by InvestChile, this figure represents a 4.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

The Central Bank reported that Chile received a net foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow of US$11.0 billion between January and August 2025. This amounts to a 4.4% increase compared to the inflows recorded during the same period in 2024, and is also above the historical average for January–August since 2013, which stands at US$9.8 billion.

The main component of FDI inflows was reinvested earnings, which totaled US$7.3 billion. Equity capital reached US$3.6 billion, while debt instruments amounted to US$118 million.

According to InvestChile’s analysis, the accumulated FDI to August has increased compared to the previous year, particularly in reinvested earnings, which at US$7.3 billion exceeds the historical average of US$4.9 billion and is at the highest level in the past 13 years.

InvestChile highlighted the reinvested earnings figure, noting that “it reflects an increase in the profits of foreign investment companies and their decision to keep those earnings in the country for potential expansions of their operations.”
