  • The agency’s investment project portfolio for the year was concentrated in the energy, mining, and infrastructure sectors.

More than 100 representatives from companies, chambers of commerce, embassies, and the public sector attended InvestChile’s 2025 Public Report, led by the agency’s Acting Director, Juan Pablo Candia. The Executive Director of Chile’s Environmental Assessment Service (SEA), Arturo Farías, also participated in the event, providing an overview of the service’s modernization efforts.

Juan Pablo Candia opened his remarks by highlighting that InvestChile celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025, noting that over the past decade the agency has evolved from a young institution in its formative stages “to become a key player in Chile’s economic development policy, with a strong institutional framework, an international presence, and solid results.”

In 2025, InvestChile recorded positive results, with its investment portfolio reaching a record high of US$65.7 billion, the largest since the agency was established. The portfolio comprised 463 projects associated with the creation of 20,678 potential jobs, representing growth of 16.8% compared with 2024, when the agency’s investment portfolio closed at US$56.2 billion.

Behind these results, Candia said, is the agency’s ongoing commitment to providing tailored support to every investor. During the past year, InvestChile delivered more than 1,700 specialized consultations to over 600 companies, processed more than 5,600 requests to expedite temporary residence procedures, and held more than 1,000 bilateral meetings with companies.

These efforts were complemented by the work of InvestChile’s international network of investment commissioners in Europe, North America, and Asia, which supported 57 projects totaling US$2.9 billion. The agency also participated in 125 international events across 25 countries.

Which sectors are attracting investment in Chile? Energy accounted for more than half of InvestChile’s 2025 investment portfolio, reaching US$38.2 billion, of which US$24.6 billion corresponded to green hydrogen projects. Mining ranked second with US$14.4 billion, representing growth of 67% compared with 2024, followed by infrastructure with US$5.6 billion, up 64% year over year.

Efficient environmental assessment

The Executive Director of Chile’s Environmental Assessment Service, Arturo Farías, explained to those present the changes the agency is implementing to reduce processing times for Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for investment projects, ensuring efficient, timely environmental assessment and legal certainty.

Farías noted that the Environmental Assessment Service has made progress in streamlining administration and improving process efficiency, marking the first achievements since the current administration took office last March. In less than five months, projects totaling nearly US$20 billion received environmental approval, and the Committee of Ministers has met nine times, resolving complaints about initiatives worth US$12 billion.

“Participating in InvestChile’s Public Accountability Report has been very important for providing information and our guidelines to entities committed to investing in Chile,” he said.
