On Thursday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m., the inauguration ceremony of Michelin’s first mining tire recycling plant in the world will take place in the Antofagasta Region of Chile. This is the MSMR (Michelin Specialty Materials Recovery) La Negra plant, a globally pioneering initiative that reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.

Covering an area of 7,725 square meters, the plant has the capacity to cut and shred up to 2,200 giant 63-inch mining tires each year. The recovered materials will be transformed into renewable and recyclable raw materials to be used in the manufacturing of Michelin tires and other brand products.
