Today, the Central Bank of Chile reported the figures for foreign direct investment (FDI) received through June of this year. According to the institution’s records, a net FDI inflow of US$9.2 billion was accumulated during the first half of 2026, representing a 29% increase compared with the US$7.1 billion received during the first six months of 2025.
According to data from the Central Bank, US$697 million in FDI entered the country in June alone.
Because the figure covers only the first six months of the year, InvestChile emphasizes that it should not be used as an indicator for projecting future trends. However, it can be considered to be within the average range over the past five years, which stands at US$9.2 billion.
The largest component of the cumulative FDI inflow through June was reinvested earnings, which totaled US$7.7 billion. Equity capital amounted to US$1.5 billion, while debt instruments totaled US$67 million.
